Interview Questions

  1. Your father wore many "hats," Doctor, farmer, family man. Which characteristics did you admire the most, and how did that affect your life? Both your parents were "people" oriented, very kind, and giving.

  2. Describe Nancy and life with her. Do you see any of Nancy's characteristics in your own children?  Do you see yourself in any of your children?

  3. As a young person visiting you, I always thought of you as "privileged" with your gardeners, housekeepers, cooks.  How did you see your life?

  4. Whose idea was it for you to go to McDonough?  How long did you attend? Tell us more about this experience and whether it made a difference in your later life?

  5. Losing a beloved sister and a beloved "brother" Joseph are life changing/destroying moments.  Do you have advice for others as to how to move through these times?

  6. What things did you inherit from your parents?

  7. How would you describe your relationship with Dennis.  Tell us some John/Dennis stories!

  8. Did you ever think you could have broken cousin Dennis's neck when you were trying to re-leave his migraine headache?

 

Career and Life Philosophy

  1. Tell us some "teacher" stories.  Are you glad you went into education?

  2. You were a teacher, then administrator. Which one did you most enjoy, and why?

  3. Why did you leave education and go into medical records?

  4. How and why did you get so engaged in our family roots and German language/culture?

  5. I think that if there is to ever be common ground between parties, we should be able to have a civil discussion, at the least within our own families. All this is a preamble to questions concerning the foundations of your lifelong Republican roots: i) were you political when you were in college, 2) Did you inherit these roots from your Mother or your Father?, 3) Would you like your party to modify some of its current policies?   

  6. Is there a question that we didn’t ask that you would have liked to us to ask?
