Life

  1. Tell us the saga of Manana. When did your love of horses begin? My (Dennis) question stems from a trip you and I took to a horse training center in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  My impression in those early years was that you wanted to become a veterinarian.  Why did you stop having horses? Did you enjoy competing in equestrian events. What were your favorite?

  2. You were not particularly athletic in your younger days (as playing H.S. team sports) and yet now you have climbed numerous high mountains with crampons and without and other daring and strenuous things Talk about this journey.

  3. You have had a number of bumps in your life's journey.  How did you move on particularly thinking about your hope to be a vet and then becoming head of three different departments at UNC at Charlotte and also dealing with an abusive marriage?

  4. What advice will you have for your granddaughters and what traits do you hope they have inherited from you?

  5. If you could change one thing about the country to make it better for your granddaughters, what would it be? 

  6. If you could go back in time and start over again in veterinary school, what would you differently that would have made life easier for you?
